Buying new laptop

I am buying a new laptop, and have narrowed the choices down to two. Holding me up are a few minor things:

One laptop contains the AMD A10-5745M, and the other contains the Intel Core i5-4200U.

Both laptops have identical internals, except these differences:

AMD is coupled with 8GB RAM, and 1TB HDD, and a 4-cell lithium-ion battery.

Intel is coupled with 6 GB of RAM, and 750GB HDD, and a 6-cell lithium-ion battery, but $50.00 less.

From what I can tell, the i5 is slightly "better", ( I don't know if the turbo boost "up to" 2.6GHz actually is effective or a selling point)

Also, from my research, the APU graphics in the AMD chip is slightly better.

So, for realistic every day use, a user such as myself wouldn't notice much of a difference in these laptops, correct? Or is one definitely superior? I'm not inclined to either side. Thanks in advance.

I know administrators saw this. I appreciate the assistance. :)(:

Just awesome customer service here.

No wonder why the amount of users has dropped drastically in recent years.

I'm done with this forum, just like the majority of users that have left this website of the past.

Umm.... customers? Just out of curiosity how much did you pay for this "service"?

26 posts, and attitude, wow lets line up to help the CUSTOMER!

The i5 will rape.

Please proceed to the payment window...

Depends on what you're doing. I'd probably go for the i5 but you didn't really present that great of a spec sheet for comparison.

What ever will we do without your shining contributions?

Well it might help to post in the correct section, I know your looking at laptops but your questions are geared towards cpu which is a different section:rolleyes:

That's actually the most positive thing I've ever seen you post. I appreciate the assistance.

Oh, and technically you and I signed an agreement to post in this forum, thus being qualified as a consumer. You don't have to pay to be a consumer or customer. So, any forum administrator would be a CSR (customer service representative, in case you were unaware of that abbreviation, I can only assume not)

I suppose you missed the part where I took every part into consideration? Maybe the bigger hard drive in the AMD model will make up for the smaller battery it has and outdo the Intel in price? I didn't just compare the processors. I assume you can't read correctly, either? I'm sorry. I'll assume less next time for your sake, ma'am. The original post was perfectly within bounds of the section Laptops, hence why it hasn't been deleted, big girl.

A majority of your post was on the CPU so figured you want a faster more specific answer you should post in the CPU section. Plus you have not really been a member on here long enough to preach "nicest thing you have heard from a user" or "how the forum activity has declined". Have you ever tried the "bump" method? I even have to do that at the Ubuntu Forums and that is one of the most active forums I have ever seen.

I doubt you would notice much difference between models but just remember RAM and HDD can be upgraded for cheap, CPU not so much.

Rule of thumb (Generally)
Intel = Processing power

AMD = Graphics (Radeon integrated > Intel HD usually)
