Microsoft has already brought us amazing products in the past. Both software and hardware. Most of you are most likely reading this on a PC running one of Microsoft's many operating systems. So, a piece of technology that has the ability to intertwine the virtual world with the real, physical, world, is not too far fetched for them. So we're not too amazed by the fact that they come up with their new product, namely the "Microsoft Hololens".
The Hololens may look like a pair of safety goggles, but it certainly is not. It's actually a pair of highly-technological glasses that create holograms for the user to behold. Hence the name "Hololens". The system works by tracking your eye movement and then shooting a beam of light at them, somehow creating the image. Now, to straighten out an apparently commong misconception, the Hololens does not create an actual hologram in the room for everyone to see, only the user wearing the glasses can see it. Added to the eye tracking, the hololens has a wide range of sensors to track its user's movements, so you're even able to interact with the holograms!.
We here at Blackholetec think this product has a lot of potential. Can you imagine watching Netflix without a television or computer screen? Or would you prefer to play Minecraft using your coffee table as a building platform?
The possibilities are endless, and we'd love to get out hands on one.
