I have SSD on my laptop, and it is plugged to a 5TB external drive.
Should I just set the sleep to "Never" when it is plugged to AC?
The advantage is that the computer is always ready. But is there any harm?
Sometimes I will set it to 5 hours, which I believe is the max, that way if I leave it on accidentally it will eventually go to sleep but usually any long task will finish in that time period. Thanks for the input. I used to have it to go to sleep after 30 minutes. But I have some process (video editing) that could take a couple of hours to finish. The computer went to sleep leaving the process undone.
I guess I would just turn off the sleeping when I need to process.
That's a good idea.Sometimes I will set it to 5 hours, which I believe is the max, that way if I leave it on accidentally it will eventually go to sleep but usually any long task will finish in that time period.
