I don't know why such programs like that don't have some sort of fail safe or dummy mode, I felt pretty dumb when I accidentally set mine to 500 mhz oc.

Haha yeah I did the same thing with the same card, I accidentally applied a 500 mhz overclock, as soon as the overclocking software loaded up and applied the overclock screen went black, I thought I fried my card.
I did a similar thing to my 6950. Went into TriXX and took it from the stock 800mhz to 1000mhz. Clicked Apply and my screen went black and the fan went to 100%. Thought I fried the card and I really freaked out because my motherboard doesn't have onboard video. Luckily, hitting the reset button on my case shut it off and it rebooted and worked fine after the reset.

My 6950 doesn't like being OCed at all. I tried taking it up to 850. Just a 50mhz increase, and even THAT crashed it

Yeah I had the 6970, great card but didn't like to be oc'd at all.

Not a lot of cards liked being OC'd without bumping up the voltage.
I've used a few different free OC programs and I have never seen an option to bump up the voltage. OR there's something I'm overlooking. Who knows lol.

I finally did find a safe OC for my 6950. Took it from the stock 800mhz up to 825. Lmao I know its basically nothing but at least I can brag that I have an overclocked PC.

I haven't applied it permanently but I have experimented with overclocking my processor which default is 3.5ghz. They say the 1090T can go up to 4.2 in turbo mode but I haven't done that much yet. I like to bump it up to 3.8 for gaming sessions then bring it back down to stock when I'm done
