How can Google know my location?

I'm on Windows 10, and I have disabled every location setting. I also disabled the option that lets sites check my language list to provide relevant content, but whenever I install Google Chrome, Google's homepage is always my country-specific page. How can this be? How can I stop it?

That doesn't sound horribly specific to me. But yes your current IP has a rDNS suffix of .com.ar

Oh no it isn't but I don't like the idea of being tracked and told what I should like all the time. The same happens in YouTube and other sites. By the way, how do you know where I am?

Depends on the forum for automated features, although if you control the server you can read any info you want straight from the DB.
Yup... nothings private these days.. Guess I might as well stop being polite and helpful all the time...

Oh... Thanks. So the only way to stop that is by using a VPN right?

You would have to run the VPN all the time. That could pose some issues though. Like with Skype (if you use it) and PayPal. I've read users getting their PayPal count banned and were kicked from Skype since they used a VPN. I use one, but I don't use it all the time. I also don't use Chrome and Winblows 10 either.

People get fooled into a false sense of security with VPN and other such things... if someone built it, someone can break it..

That's just about everything aside from actual users :p

I have a few, I have a few. LOL I tried to get some SEO, but I'm not paying a company to do it. It's hard to gain users when you're not the only game in town. The well-established forums beat you at your own game. I was going to create a forum over ten years ago, but didn't. Now that I changed domains I have to wait for SEO again.
