WIndows 10 Budget Gaming computer ( For Under 2,500 USD)

Hey yall,

im new here and this is my first post

My question is i have a limited income but i want to upgrade/buy a reasonable Gaming computer desktop

I have a ASUS m32 Desktop that has a intel i-5 processer 16GB DDR ram a Nvidia 700 series GPU and dvd multi burner
the PSU is stock 800w want to reuse the case if i need to get a new MB

Was looking to upgrade to a i-7 or 9 processer and upgrade the ram to around 32GB And a new GPU( NVidia preferred)
i dont know were to start looking taking ALL advice and suggestions

You will definitely need a new motherboard as your system is around 9 years old since that processor came out in 2014. So you'll need

MB
CPU
RAM
GEN 4 NVME SSD
Storage HDD/SDD unless you already have it
GPU

Would need to know what games you play to recommend a new video card. How old is that psu?
 
Its the original PSU so its as old as the computer and im wanna play Fortnite and COD MW2 on steam also i am trying to Bitcoin mine but half of the mining protocals require some type of GPU processing and the current card doesn't benchmark
 
Well i talked to the local computer guy he said if i stay in the same generation of processers i could reuse the mb as long its like An i7
 
It's up to you but I would not buy a cpu that is 9 generations old at this point. What motherboard is in it now? If you aren't sure, then download cpuz from here, open it and click on the mainboard tab and screenshot it for us.

To be honest, the games you want to play don't require much more than what you already have. Would definitely get a better video card though.

If the psu is as old as the rest of the system its time to replace that as well. Heck, I think a system is outdated every 5 years or so and thats generally when I build me a new system. I currently have an 8700K but as far as I'm concerned I don't need to upgrade yet, since what I do works for me.
 
Well im just going to buy a new system then fck it i just got an new job and I'll just start saving up for a new system any suggestions for a asus desktop
 
Ok, thats not helping as it not actually listing the model of motherboard.

Do you know how to build a pc? If so, that would be in your best interest as it would be a better bang for your buck.
 
Haven't built one since tech school and that was when i was 16 lol but i know the basics of building a computer ill be 37
 
One of my Son's friends was looking at pre-builts and asked us to recommend an alternative. As I'm currently a fan of AM5 we put this together.
If my budget was higher I'd consider Ryzen 7 7700X or even 7800X3D paired with a 4060 Ti or a 4070.

Given the gouging rates on eBay a Ryzen 3600 would be roughly the same cost and significantly faster than trying to slot in a 4790k or something.

thanks guys ill let you all know what i do next i just got to wait till the cash starts rolling in on this new job maybe by mid September I should have enough to do either builds that you both recommended
 
ok my next question ( lets keep this thread rolling :) lol ) now i have a OS pre-installed already pre loaded with a WIN10 pro licenses 64-bit how if possible can I make a disk image to a SSD from my HDD that i currently have. Or is that something a data recovery Specialist would need to do ?

well what made me start thinking about a gaming machine i noticed a really High FPS lagging and spiking at first i thought the GPU was overloaded then the game crashed to the point of a hard reset via the power button ( CoD mobile thru a emulator) then i turned on on-board virtualization through the BIOS increased the max cores to max ( the BIOS says 3 cores) but i choose to use the "all" option. tuned my power options to the "performance" mode. Re-ran still laggy and choppy and it crashed again to the point of a hard reset...
 
You can't just image your current hdd and install it to a new pc since it will have way different hardware and would bluescreen upon bootup. You'll need to install windows fresh and reinstall all your programs. You can get windows licenses pretty cheap online for around 30 bucks.
