okay... i spent about $500 dollars for the new X1950XTX - it was a tremendous upgrade from my 128 bit Nvidia... but i gotta say... i pretty upset with ati. the card works just as it should, i am really impressed. the included software installed fine. no hiccups with anything. my earlier post about the power supply... it isn't a complaint really... i guess their system reqs, were just recommendations. so here's what i'm upset about:

- the lack of instructions... it had catalyst, and drivers for everything. a demo for some outer space screen saver, and office fx - what do i do with them? in all the paper work, nothing explaining what all the included things do or how to use them. there was a book with instructions on how to install the card in like 6 languages. even how to install cards that aren't the card i bought.

- lack of insignia... i paid about $500 dollars - they can't include a freakin case badge? what the hell? nVidia offers t-shirts!! i can't get a teeny tiny sticker?!?

really... i'm happy with the purchase... the card really is great... never seen graphical quality like this, and it's on my machine nonetheless. i'm just voicing my complaint to you.

quit yer yappin, you spent 500 dollars ona card, you think you could face spending what another 5 on a case sticker.... and the lck of instructions, well, when they sell a 500 dollar card (aimed at the cream of the crop of the IT world) they probably didnt feel it necessary to give details of what everythign does, mainly because you should already know

So, not really a complaint is it, its just you being picky

If you don't know what to do with the drivers and demos, you really shouldnt be buying hardware yourself. Especially hardware that cost $500.

And, you can get a case badge for a few dollars. I really don't see why you would want ANY badges/stickers on your case.

The only thing you NEED is the display driver.

You want instructions to enjoy the games for which it is intended?

I didn't get a casebag when i got my x850pro. As for display driver CD, I wouldn't mind if i dont get one, as I never use it anyways. I just download the newest ones off their website.

I would also expect a company to court me if I were buying such a high priced peice of equipment for the segment.

actually, every game i've ever played... since the beggining of time, included an instruction booklet telling you what buttons do what... and what certain items do.
"personally, if i were you, i would have upgraded your processor and gotten a X1900XTX"
this was an employee purchase program, i had to shop through dell.com - i actually did order the x1900, but dell discontinued it... after they sold it to me. they were however, cool enough to replace it with the x1950 for free. that doesn't make much of a difference though... the 1900's were still almost $500 on dell.com - and as for upgrading the processor... i sure plan to. i'm upgrading part by part - i had the opportunity to get the gpu, so i did. when i have the money... i want a core 2 duo.

i must have been a little mis understood... i had no problems with the drivers. i installed hundreds of video cards for myself and friends... all the way back to 16mb voodoo cards. this was my first pci-e card... but other than the bus... not much difference (as far as installation) in any case... i buy hardware for myself all the time. i have questions a lot... because as i'm sure you know... computer hardware has changed alot in the last 3 years. for instance... ram is available in more than 128 meg sticks now... and there's more of a choice than just ddram or sdram... i can build... i have built... the question or complaint wasn't at all about how to install.
"I really don't see why you would want ANY badges/stickers on your case." you know... it's not that important to me... really.. i dont go to lan parties or anything... it just struck me as very strange... and here's why. while i was shopping around... i was on ati's site... and they were showing off the 1950 like it was THE card for hardcore gamers. you'd think if they were as proud of it as they were saying they are... they would let people advertise "graphics by ati" or whatever on their computer. that's my thing with it.

sure games come with it, as you need to find out what buttons do, but most lots of people don't bother to read the instruction manuals for video cards as you just stick it in and plug it to the power supply.

lol you got free GDDR4 memory and heatsink upgrade :D

Oh yeah, you know there's a quote function on this forum, the big quote button ;)

It's not ATI, it's the manufacturers of the card (unless you bought it directly from ATI). Next time, you should look at the pics to make sure it has everything you need.

And I agree with ku-sama, I deffinetly would have bought the x1900XT and upgraded the CPU.

L2read,he said they upgraded him to an x1950 through dell for free cuz they discontinued the x1900.

he still got overcharged... the reason he got the X1950XTX is cause dell stopped getting X1900s.... but he should have gotten it via newegg, much better deal...

Get over it. Quite honestly, I wouldn't care if the box came ONLY with the card, and nothing else.

Oh, and learn to use quote function.
