final fantasy VII was one of the best, great storyline too it and has been one of the major successes for square, as can be seen by the amount of spin offs for it..FFVII advent children, dirge of cerberus amongst others
VIII was a bit weak on characters but they pulled it back nicely for IX.
X was cracking i thought for the move over to PS2, just recently played it again to completion and still love it, although X-2 was a bit of a cop out, seeing as they could use much of the same artwork again for this game. However it was still a pretty good game when it got going and nciely finished off the storyline between the two games
XII so far has looked stunning, beautiful graphics and some great changes to the gameplay.
The new battle system really does take some getting used to but then square do like to make changes with each installement, this one seems to be an evolvment of the ATB system, quite tricky but allows the game to continue and no more cracking screens every five seconds for a battle.
The gambit system is qquite clever and fairly intuitive once you start using it, a really useful addition to the battle system.
Its tough though, have found taht you really need to work on getting those levels up to progress this game, defiantely advise taking on the side quests whenever you can to get up to standard, some of the hunts later on can really screw you over if your not up to at least level 60
Good stuff so far, cant wait to see how XIII looks on the PS3, that should be something special
