How do I increase cpu voltage ?

Hello,
Have been trying to OC my new system.

Have upgraded the PSU from $19 Raidmax of 420 Watts,
to $119 AeroCool ZERODBA Dual +12V Rails of 620 Watt,
and have been tinkering with CPU Frequency and Multiplier.
(Note: I'm not certain the new PSU made a difference).

Have tinkered with the cpu frequency and cpu multiplier.
Used multipliers 7, 8, 9, and 10.
These are the maximum stable Frequencies for each multiplier:
10x214=2143, and
9x232=2091, and
8x232=1859, and
7x232=1627

Also, if I use the Asus AI setting of 5%, it = 2102.9.
The next AI setting is at 8%, and it is unstable at 2164.

Seems from the reading of the 101 instructionals on this forum, that the next step might be to increase the voltage on the cpu. Bios shows cpu voltage setting on "auto", and available increases of, 1.150, 1.175, 1.200, 1.225, 1.250, 1.275, and 1.300 (max).

I'm confused. I thought that "auto" is 3.v anyway, and
why would bios max at 3v. This doesn't seem to allow any setting above the stock oem voltage for this processor.

I think this processor runs at 3v anyway, and why do the bios setting not show any settings above 3v. I don't get it. Have I got something wrong here?

How do I increase the cpu voltage ?

Note: The bios Hardware monitor has a reading for "Vcore Voltage" of 1.31. Is "Vcore" the same a "CPU voltage". I don't understand the use of two different terms if they mean the same thing. Can anyone kindly clarify ? Terminology gets confusing if it is not uniform.

even for the AI overclock, you would have to enable the CPU overvolting option, to allow the AI overclocking to up the Voltage by itself :)

Archangel,
Not so. The AI Tuning/Auto doesn't require and input re. cpu voltage.
It asks for a selection of a percentate, 5%, 8%, or 10%.
Does not ask for any entry re. cpu voltage.
As stated in my posting, bios AI Tuning/Manual shows cpu voltage setting on "auto", and available increases of, 1.150, 1.175, 1.200, 1.225, 1.250, 1.275, and 1.300 (max).

Question remains: How do I increase the cpu voltage ?

PS.
Emporer Nero,
Very convincing demonstration of foolishness.
I hope your infantile tenor doesn't represent this forum.
What a waste of time that would be.
Go learn to tie your shoelaces.

You won't get anywere here by harassing members...

Could you check the settings for your Vcore options again? Usually they are in 0.0125 volt incrememts, not .5 volt increments. If those are the right ones, I wouldn't recommend putting the voltage above 1.5V.

See the Vcore set to auto, take it off auto and set it!

Jet,
I made confusing typo in prev. postings. Have corrected it via edit. Here are the voltage options:
Bios AI Tuning/Manual shows cpu voltage available increases of, 1.150, 1.175, 1.200, 1.225, 1.250, 1.275, and 1.300 (max).

Note, does not seem to allow for a voltage increase above stock of 1.3.

Question: How do I increase the voltage ?

Will post some screen images of my bios as soon as RCN finishes with its server migration, and I can FTP my webspace. Told it would be 24 hrs.

PS. I'm looking for help, not trouble with other people's children. If anyone makes a wise_ss remark, I will respond in kind, and if I determine that that is the tenor of the forum, then I leave. Simple. If someone wants to help, then I appreciate it. If I can help someone then I will do my best. If someone is a wise_ss, and the forum condones such behaviour , then I'm gone. It's too big and beautiful an internet to put up with such nonsense.

Your motherboard seems only to allow undervolting, not overvolting, so you are probably stuck with what you have now.

PS. This forum is one of the best out there, so don't get upset over somebody's remark. Hope you stick around a while.

Mobo has latest bios.

Is this volting limitation a feature of the motherboard, or does the bios get info from the processor, and it is actually the processor that has a voltage lock ?

In other words, if I wanted to up the voltage, would I replace the Mobo or the processor ?

Peculiar, because this I built this machine and bought this Asus mobo specifically because it was supposed to be very conducive to overclocking.

Does this mean that 2135 MHz is it, on this expensive machine ?

PS. I'm not bulletproof, but I can take a couple of hits. It's just that I have been on forums where the wise_sses seem to control, and I prefer to avoid those environs.
