Hello,
Have been trying to OC my new system.
Have upgraded the PSU from $19 Raidmax of 420 Watts,
to $119 AeroCool ZERODBA Dual +12V Rails of 620 Watt,
and have been tinkering with CPU Frequency and Multiplier.
(Note: I'm not certain the new PSU made a difference).
Have tinkered with the cpu frequency and cpu multiplier.
Used multipliers 7, 8, 9, and 10.
These are the maximum stable Frequencies for each multiplier:
10x214=2143, and
9x232=2091, and
8x232=1859, and
7x232=1627
Also, if I use the Asus AI setting of 5%, it = 2102.9.
The next AI setting is at 8%, and it is unstable at 2164.
Seems from the reading of the 101 instructionals on this forum, that the next step might be to increase the voltage on the cpu. Bios shows cpu voltage setting on "auto", and available increases of, 1.150, 1.175, 1.200, 1.225, 1.250, 1.275, and 1.300 (max).
I'm confused. I thought that "auto" is 3.v anyway, and
why would bios max at 3v. This doesn't seem to allow any setting above the stock oem voltage for this processor.
I think this processor runs at 3v anyway, and why do the bios setting not show any settings above 3v. I don't get it. Have I got something wrong here?
How do I increase the cpu voltage ?
Note: The bios Hardware monitor has a reading for "Vcore Voltage" of 1.31. Is "Vcore" the same a "CPU voltage". I don't understand the use of two different terms if they mean the same thing. Can anyone kindly clarify ? Terminology gets confusing if it is not uniform.
