Well I get it for free, so of course im going to. But I dont plan on using it as a permanent OS for quite some time, until they fix the major bugs and have applications and games that are compatible with it.

deffinately no..

none of my computers are near the requirements, and it's rediculous just 2 get Vista cuz it's a new OS...

XP has SP3 comin out shortly after the release of Vista..

Dang, looks like I'll need more RAM....and a DX10 Card....And the winning Lottery Ticket......

you will all get it dont kid yourselfs its like when we were all using win 2000 and that was an awesome o/s no reason to change but all of use moved to win xp when it came out why? because its the latest technology

When it comes to the point where every single game and app is made for Vista only, then you'll change your mind :)

No, for the simple fact that I hate IE 7 and Vista isn't user friendly. I prefer IE 6. I've tried the Beta and RC versions of Vista and its not user friendly to me, especially when you want to go to control panel and it asks you if your sure you want to run it or not. I hate the extra steps it takes to get something done.....

No. Once XP stops getting updated, applications stop releasing versions supported for it and games start only being released compatible with Vista, it is at this time that I shall return to Linux completely.

It just takes time getting used to :)

But then you'll miss out on DX10 :P

I thought the 8800 was the only DX10 graphics card on the market at the moment, and in order to use DX10 you need a graphics card that is DX10 compatible. I don't plan on purchasing anything that high up the market for a long time just yet :).

But if you want to play DX10 games in the future, you will need a DX10 card and Vista :)

Indeed, but I'm guessing that by the time absolutely no games can play on anything less than DX10 (and I get bored of the ones I currently play, as I only play BF2142 and CS:S now), I'll be in a full time career with a family and kids. Which would mean barely being on a computer at all, let alone to play games :P
