I have decided to build a computer and i have researched and read all the "101" posts on this forum. I have final after a few days came up with all the parts i need to build my computer but i don't want to buy all the parts just to find out none of them are compatible or are crap. so here is a list of all the parts i have picked out. I am up for any suggestions about my system and any recommendations. I will be using this computer for mainly gaming(high quality settings:) ) and occasional photoshoping. Also i have exactly $1100 and with that i need to buy a good computer and a 19" or 20" monitor. I already am thinking of a monitor that is $200. any suggestions?
so here it is:o :

___Total = $983
Is this a good rig?

1. Will my Hard Drive and RAM work with my motherboard?
2. Will my onboard sound card be good quality or should i buy a cheap sound card(I don't have speakers and I'm using iCEMAT headphones)?

yep

Do i really need a sound card(I don't have speakers and I'm using iCEMAT headphones)?
Onboard Audio
Audio Chipset Realtek ALC883
Audio Channels 8 Channels

So no! just use the onboard sound.

Are there any pre-made computers out on the market that have better performance and are cheaper then this one?

With them same specs probably not, but you should do some hunting about just incase.

I read the cpu 101 and it said amd processors are better for gameing and i really am trying to make a gaming machine.

That's pre-C2D. Since the release of the Core 2 Duo, Intel has regained the lead on gaming processors, as well as multi-tasking, and well, most things.

I second the recomendation for a C2D.

If you cant afford the motherboard above posted by firsttimebuilder, heres another good board thats a bit cheaper.

Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3

Thanx alot. but..
I was looking at some of the C2D but there really expensive! I need a processor with at least 1.7ghz because thats bf2 lowest requirement. This is the cheapest one i found and its $199 Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Conroe 1.86GHz 2M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor
Was the C2D suppose to low the price of my system or raise it?(im not trying to me mean.:) )

Needs: All i want is a computer that can run all the latest games on high settings while still maintaining a playable fps.
Is the video card i have posted good enough for my "needs"?

I play BF2 on the maxed out settings online with between 70 and 100 fps with an e6300 an nVidia GeForce 7600GS with is nowhere near the performance of the 7900GT so you should be fine also I'm only using 1 GB of RAM so you should be fine with like 150 fps.... Unless you are using 1600x1200 resolution then you'll have to look up some benchmarks or ask someone more knowledgeable.

Hope I helped

Ignore anything that 'requires' a process with a certain Ghz rating. Back in the P4 era it was the easiest way to specify system requirements, but these days it has little relevance. A 1.86Ghz E6300 will easily outperform a 3Ghz P4.

The Core 2 Duo may raise the price of the system somewhat, but it's worth it for the performance benefits.

As for a motherboard, I'd go with a Gigabyte 965P-S3

Oh, and i'd take an XClio Goodpower 500W over that In Win PSU.
