XP Service Pack 2

On the first section note the lower box with other items listed directly under it. That's called the selective startup. Once you check that off the other items will be seen as normal rather then being darkened out. The only thing there to check or uncheck at this time is the selective startup option and then proceed to the startup group.

Later you can hide the MS services to look over the items in the services group. If you disable the wrong thing in the startup group you can go back and enable it at any time. But you will want to hide the MS stuff when in the other section. As far as the first tab that appears first. There will be three places offset at the top over all of the check boxes. Generally only advanced users will uncheck the lower items like boot.ini settings and the like there.

What you need to look at is the top three of Normal, Diagnostic, and Selective startup options. The selective is the one to choose. By default the normal option is seen. That auto loads all startup items. You want the selective in order to troubleshoot the list of things loading at the system startup to see if this isolates the problem. Later you can return to the normal startup mode when everything is working properly.

I tried to install this a while ago and after I installed it all kinds of stuff messed up.
Can you give some more details? Generally, when some update fails to install, it does an on-the-spot rollback and so you wouldnt have any issues (which also explains why it takes so damn long)

Also now when I sign into my log in name two IE windows some up with Yahoo.com open without me even doing anything. Should I risk it and install it again or do yall know what went or is wrong with my computer?
Would be worthwhile checking that [1] you dont have IE starting up automatically in your startup and [2] you dont have any spyware

It sounds more like a ISP configuration problem
Um... if that was the case, he wouldnt be able to come here

I got the SP2 from my automatic updates that appear on my computer and I installed it and when I went to log back in a blue screen came up and thats be a while. So should I download the AVG Anti Spyware remover or download the other link you gave me?
Let me try and understand ... you install SP2 and (presumably after rebooting) you login and get a BSOD .... but you're asking about downloading stuff ... which means you, have, since then, been able to login ... which means that it was a one-time BSOD ...which means the problem would effectively be gone....

So there is stuff that says hkcmd which I don't know what it is and NeroCheck which is my buring software iTunes and Adobe and a Configuration & Mo just stuff like that but don't uncheck the IEXPLORE or in command version IEXPLORE.exe?
You can disable the NeroCheck and Itunes stuff ... why not just list all the entries and we can isolate which to eliminate :)

IExplorer.exe is the executable for Internet Explorer itself despite version. If you simply end a process you would have to logoff or restart the system to run it after.
Major typo there ... you can kill IExplore.exe over and over and over and over and never have to logoff and restart to run it again

At times just trying to log onto your page can be a burden if the servers are bogged down or you have a glitch with the hardware drivers or settings for your ISP. Techs servicing the newer wireless connections sometimes end up.. ! pulling hair at times trying to debug those!

The iexplorer.exe file is not for Windows Explorer but the main executable for IE as mentioned earlier. When you click the end process on this the top window if more then one IE window is open closes on the spot instantly like... "awwww.. crap I got to log onto the same thread at CF over again?" when you find yourself back at the desktop. You wouldn't need tp reboot but restrart IE and go back to the page you were just on.
