I'd go with the Asus just because I actually know the brand :P Both boards looks basically identical.

However, check newegg. Even TigerDirect's combo's can be more than what Newegg offers.
 
but that $157.99 is American right so thats $184.59 Canadian and shipping might be more where im in canada and if im not mistaken the amd 64 3800+ isnt as good as the 4000+ thats on tigerdirect
 
Oh, whoops... I didn't catch you were in Canada. Sorry, I don't know if Newegg ships out there...

I don't know how much worse the 3800 is to the 4000, but I doubt there'd be a huge difference.
 
i just added a item to my cart on newegg and went to check out and theres only a box there to enter a zip code and no postal code so I dont think they ship to Canada so I'M just going to go with the asus/amd 64 4000+ combo i posted up there unless I come across something thats better because I'm not going to be ordering a new mobo for a while because I'm kinda low on cash at the moment due to other hobbies i have (snowmobiling , nitro rc , aquariums and reptiles) and I'm only 14 and i dont even know how i manage to keep so many expensive hobbies i have going.
 
Any reason why your getting 939 instead of AM2, 939 is slowing going out

I'm going with 939 because tiger doesn't have any AM2 combos but when i do buy my mother board witch wont be for a while I'm defiantly going to go with a AM2 if tiger has them when i order

I didn't find any references to bundles there. The prices edge up over the bundle seen at TigerDirect.CA. But the 4000+ is kind of an off model like the 3400+ probably being made and sold direct to HP, Dell, and other companies for prebuilt systems initially. but that processor is the energy efficient version but its the same price as the normal one so would i be better off performance wise to go with the normal one or is the energy efficient one just as good.
 
That will save a little on the board. For performance you would run the model with the normal output. That would also allow you to see better results if you plan on ocing any. That model is equipped to run with the higher current ocing would pull. The energy efficent would be for strictly stock application and better for 24/7 operation due to the lower power demand.
 
Im proud to say i am "Powered by ASUS!" . ASUS all the way, they make stable OCing boards. Iv OCed both my ASUS boards without a problem, other then my current one which is a ram/psu issue and not mobo.

I say go with ASUS.

Besides the acknowledgement of Asus's superiority to most other makes of boards you may want to refer to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperthreading regarding the HT 2ghz not fsb there.

I know, i was making fun of its specs as it said the FSB was 2ghz. Since AMDs no longer have an FSB and since they also do not use HT. AMDs use whats called Hyper-Transport, not Hyper-Threading. Very different.

I think the companies should start changing the specs on newer stuff instead of lableing it FSB it should be labled as HTT or bus speed, or something like that. FSB is so misleading :mad:

lol yea, its really stupid how they misadvertise so much. :rolleyes:

Anyway, yea, i recently learned that AMDs no longer have a FSB starting with the 64 bit cpus. Im pretty sure my old AMD XP had one though.......Anyway, im not sure what to refer to it as now. Core speed? Internal clock? I like internal clock.
