CompUSA going down in my area :)

OH YES! if they still are up in omaha by this weekend i'm going there with a $400 budget on computer parts!

i'm thinking X2, 1gb ram, thermaltake truepower 470w, 7600GS

if it is 50% off it will come to around 300 dollars, if its 30% off it will be a tad over $400, or i'll have to scrap the 7600gs and just wait for the 8600 anyway.

compusa always had the best prices.

I hope they're not ALL going out of business.

Who else has $19.99 100 packs of dvd-r's?

I know SAM's club does, but that also requires a $40 membership, and don't accept visa or mastercard............

Best buy's too damn expensive. People are just too lazy to have to shop at more than one store, and best buy wins by default because they have more than just computer stuff.

That's too bad, really. Even walmart charges more for dvd's.

I usually get them when they're on sale, so I usually get a 50-Pack for $10 or so, sometimes less.

Heading out there now. I am going to check out what's left, I don't believe its down to 50% off yet though.

Edit-
Erm... yeahhh
All the X2's are gone, the manager told me the flew of the shelves when they were 10% off:eek: which would be about $180 for a 939 x2, lol.
There is a lot of hard drives left, but they are only 10% off at the moment. The RAM is very over priced and wouldn't be worth while unless it is 80% off. All decent GPU's are gone, if there was any.

Could you get some specific prices next time your down their? If I know their price, then I could give you the money ahead of time and tell you to get them when they hit a certain % off. That way you have no chance of getting burned.

actually after looking at compusa's website, most of the stuff won't actually be a bargain compared to newegg until it goes to 50% off.

i'll have to call the omaha one and see what they are at right now.

Yikes the only one near me is closing :'( Thats where I got most of my computer parts last time around. I gotta go out near it tommorrow so I am going to take a look. Otherwise its a 74mile hike the the nearest non closing one hah!

My step-dad did their Website and some of their magazine and advertisement stuff. He was at there central office in Dallas when they cut loose 250 employees at the office, he said they charge so high because their executives are way overpaid. I got a digital camera for half, it is a Sony Cybershot, the thin one.

Wow, this is kind of sad really, they were a good place to go to as an alternative to un-Best Buy and Circuit Crappo.

Yeah, I was really happy I stumbled on this thread. I got myself a Core 2 Duo for 160 with their 30% off cpus and motherboard closing sale. I was also looking for the Gigabyte 965 S3, but with the discount, it still came out more than newegg, so I decided to get it on newegg instead.

if u have paypal...i will ask u if u can buy me one gb of DDR2 667 ram from them? then ship it to me? it needs to beat $60 bucks on pricing

EDIT: what here cheapest 10000rpm hard drive?
