You lost 100 bucks, it's now only 250 off. This system uses XP (my recommendation) and has no MS word .
When you get it, reformat it to remove all the trash, and you'll love this machine.
By the way, this is more of a notebook, not a laptop. Notebooks are considered desktop replacements. This 17inch version isn't all that small.

Recalculating Price
i would be fine with a 15.4 inch screen i guess. whats your reasoning for sticking with windows xp?
Worth the Upgrade? 2GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHZ, 2 DIMM [Included in Price]
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHZ, 2 DIMM [subtract $50]
Worth the upgrade?100GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive [Included in Price]
160GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive [subtract $25]
i dont see what the difference is between the Wide Screen WXGA and the Wide Screen SXGA
is there anything wrong with getting a laptop/notebook from the small business section rather than the home/home office? thanks for your help and patience so far
would the Radeon x1400 be able to handle recent games comfortably or even in high settings??
alright i'll get xp and both upgrades. how about the difference between wireless cards? worth the ungrade?
nobody said what the difference is between the Wide Screen WXGA (additional $50) and the Wide Screen SXGA (additional $100). They are both the ultra sharp models
The difference would be the protocols it supports. Currently the N is the fasts with a bandwidth of 108Mbit next is G 54 and the B 11.
I think he may be wondering the difference between the Dell wireless card and the Intel Pro. They are only offered in three flavors A, B, and G. I don't know what the difference would be, do you?
