360 + blu ray drive is cheaper than a ps3 or a blu ray drive
I'm sorry to say it but this is bull, and here's why:
a) Microsoft have been ripping the piss out of Sony for including a 'pointless' Blu-Ray disc player into the PS3. How would it look if they suddenly did a 180 and said: "Actually...Blu-Ray is awesome...definately worth a $400 upgrade" ?
b) An external Blu-Ray disc player for the 360 would by capable of film content but not games. PS3 can do both.
c) Microsoft are too proud to admit that they should have included an internal high definition media drive (HD-DVD or BR) from the very beginning and to do a half-assed attempt now would make them look foolish.
This is complete nonsense. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Blu-Ray patented and made by Sony exclusively? Blu-Ray is Sony's technology unlike HD-DVD so rumors about Microsoft having a Blu-Ray player are delusional and only rumors.
its owned by 17 large companies and backed by 5 large media companies, and its not made exclusively by sony, thats nonsense, the first blu ray player was made by samsung. the drive wouldn't be a microsoft product it would be made by a third party vendor.
That's why I said correct me if I'm wrong....
Plus I'm not talking about players, but "Blu-Ray" technology itself. I thought that was a Sony Patent? Does anyone know if it is or is not?
this is quite ironic
I believe it's somewhere around 80% Blu-ray to 20% HD-DVD, and Blu-ray can hold about 3 HD-DVD discs on one Blu-ray.
i dont think so (correct me if im wrong) but i think its just been taken on board by sony, its their chosen format, like microsoft and HD DVD, the technology itself was developed by someone else
