Problems with my Work Computer

We use this computer for Quickbooks, printing, and credit card transactions. Anyway, the computer has been having random errors and showing a Windows error blue screen. I have thought that this could be the hard drive failing, it is a HP with Win98SE. I hate their computers, they won't pay out $300 to buy an Acer. I have already replaced the monitor with a 15" Dell LCD. What do think is the cause?

Thanks

Thanks

I mean man you fit all the credentials
been here for four 6 months
almost 3000 post

How long have you had the computer? I'm not familiar with HP (or really any pre-building brands), but I would assume they have a 1 year limited warranty. At least all the TVs I sell do, and I don't see why a comp would be any different.
Sorry if this is redundant BTW, just a suggestion which you may or may not have thought of already.

Download Memtest86 and scan your ram one stick at a time. If yourhard drive was failing = freezes, weird clicking, crashes, ect ect.

For now if your 100% that yours HDD is failing: Immidiately backup everything.

Try another HDD and see what happens, or take out one stick of RAM .

No offense to any of the mods but, becoming a mod means you have to take a lot of crap. I just wouldn't want to step into it, maybe if someone requested and there are plenty of other members that are ahead of me.

It's probably a 1999 or 2000 built PC, I am on it right now, I hate it.

I already have, I popped in another drive and a dual IDE cable this morning. I copied the entire C: to the E:, took a while but, better safe than sorry.

I thought that mods were just members with more privledges! What "crap" do they take?

Get another computer or bring a b etter one from home.

Did you scan the RAM yet?

If the mods punish someone, then it's "oh, he's a power-abusive @**hat."

My boss is too conservative, I am not bringing anything from home, I don't want to bring anything of value to collect dust down there.

Haven't scanned it yet, will tomorrow.
