ok, so i finally came to the conclusion that i need a new gaming PC. why? because i saw and played bioshock demo and the graphics sucked for me. they were choppy and it was lagging, even at a medium graphic setting. I don't just want to build this pc to play bioshock, but for my other needs, like multimedia, music, and stuff. And i also need this pc to last me a couple of more years. So, i went out on the internet, and searched up on tigerdirect.ca (yes, im in canada) for barebone kits. what i found sounded pretty good to me:
-Asus P5N-E SLI NVIDIA Socket 775 Barebone Kit
-Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 OEM
-1GB DDR2 PC4200
-ATX Mid-Tower Case
-600 Watt Power Supply
-$591.99 after rebate
-click here to see it on tigerdirect.ca
This is all the things included with the barebone kit. what i noticed is that it didn't have a video card. So i searched for a PCI Express video card and found this:
-XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX Edition
-256MB GDDR3
-SLI Ready
-PCI Express
-Dual DVI / HDTV
-$142.99 after rebate
-click here to see it on tigerdirect.ca
from it's reviews and features i liked it. it has SLI, so i can alwasy go and buy the same one and setup an SLI, and even my mobo supports it.
So in all, with shipping and tax is: $953.38
So what i'm asking is,
how easily customizable is this hardware
and
is it a good deal, should i get it now? what suggestions do you have for a gamer who plays half-life2, bioshock, and other model and texture heavy games like that. i dont want it to lag.
again, i need something to last me a good 4-5 years. I don't wanna buy a whole new computer, i'd rather upgrade when new things come out.
thanks,
