AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ is $280 on Newegg !!!

according to the reviews

According to what reviews ??!

Can post the link of the reviews ?

the 6400 has unlocked multiplier and can clocked to 3.8ghz.
As far as I know only the FX series have unlocked multiplier

Edit: I searched by google to see if 6400+ has unlocked multiplier but I haven't found any article that that support what you are saying........

Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: less than 1 day

Pros: 3.2ghz Proc, This in reality is an AMD Athlon Fx-64 with an unlocked multiplier.
Cons: None really. Was hoping it was released for around $xxx USD.
Other Thoughts: This proc may not be that much faster than the 6000+ out of the box but you have to remember the 6000+ is kind of limited to around 3.3ghz. Also the 6400+ has an unlocked Multiplier makes for good Overclocking. My friend has 2 of these running at 3.8ghz with a stock AM2 Cooler with a .25 volt increase for 24/7 use. Buy this and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Well thats not true with all of them, the Athlon X2 6400 has 2 times as much L1 as Intel Core 2 and the same amount of L2 as the core 2 with 2mb

L1, but L2 is accessed after L1, so.... Is L2 not more important than L1? And the E6x20, E6x50, and above E6600 all have 4Mb of L2

Thats a Newegg review, like I beleve that. theres no way its going to do 3.8 with a .25 voltage increase with a stock AMD heatsink, I dont think it would do 3.8 with any voltage or cooler. It the same core and stepping as the 5600 and 6000.

Yeah, Newegg has some of most moronic reviews ever. I found one who thought a Bluetooth dongle allowed for an Xbox 360 controller. I know you can use the Microsoft adapter for it(I have one), but this guy complained about a Bluetooth adapter not working with his controller.

L1 is faster than L2, thats why I said the Core 2s with 2mbs of L2. The new AMD Phenom X4 and X2 will have L1, L2 and L3

The smaller the cache the faster, thats why L1 is always smaller. The L1 and L2 is for each core and the L3 will be shared with all cores like the L2 is for the Core 2. From the way it looks, it will have 64K L1 and 512K of L2 for each core and from 2 mbs to 6 mbs of L3

Since when have there been so many Intel fanboys around here?

I'm guessing its the same people who claimed AMD 4 Life about a year ago....

I agree with you

The Phenom processors will have only 2MB of L3 cache when it first comes out.

The 45nm die shrink of Phenom processor will have 6MB L3 cache but it will come out on the second half of 2008

LOL!! Shows that you cant trust reviews on Newegg.
I don't trust customer reviews

I have read many reviews about 6400+, and non of those reviews mentioned that 6400+ have unlocked multiplier.

I dont think it is, If AMD had unlocked them I am sure it would have been called a FX for a selling point since they need money so bad.
