ok. go to start, my computer, my network places, my network, and look for your internet card. what does it say?
the desktop is the one i use and it is wired but we also have a wireless router that connects my moms laptop which i am using right now. Also, where are you getting your internet from? (wireless, wired, etc)
hum so your sure your network cable is plugged in?
Okay, and like Brianmay27 asked, you're sure its plugged in right? And did you try what I posted to do earlier?
Its an RJ45 cable, it should look like a phone cable, but wider.
go to start>all programs>accessories>system tools>sytem restore and check if there is a restore point there 4 when you installed the program
edit: are you sure that the wire is connected to the router or modem?
go into command thing and erase and reestablish IP i forgot how to do i remember doing it when u erase ur IP internet dont work.
yep.
what would a system restore erase? because there are files that i can risk being deleted.
do you mean release and renew your ip address
it will just restore your computer to the previous state where it worked if the program created one
so, no files are deleted? (just making sure)
System Restore will not monitor changes to file types commonly used for users' personal data files, such as documents, graphics, e-mail, etc., and will not restore windows logins. Thus, users will not lose personal data, emails, etc. when performing a system restore.
