E6600 Overclock

What have people using this processor been overclocking too?

At idle i'm at about 30-35degrees C. Doesn't go up much higher under load. Maybe 33-38. I do have Liquid Cooling btw.

I BARELY OCed it so far as i'm at 2.44ghz compared to the stock 2.40. But i'm new to this and a bit nercous.

Where will I see the biggest differences with the overclocked CPU?

You will be able to tell the difference. People get that one up to 4Ghz, but to run 24/4 use i would OC it to at 3-3.3ghz if it was me. Im not sure if you need to up the voltage or not to get that clock, maybe someone else here will know that has OC'ed that chip.

What you mean to run 24/4? I am not lookin for a 4.0ghz... just 3.1ghz or so. To get the X6800 speeds. Think i'll need to up the voltage for that?

Can I turn it up in pretty big chunks? Like 2.8ghz and just leave it for a bit? See how it runs?

I said people can get it to 4ghz, and then i said to run it 24/7 i would look to clock it around 3-3.3ghz. I would up the FSB a little at a time (like like 002). Also you would want to set your ram to a 1:1 ratio. Im not sure if you need to up the voltage or not to get 3ghz, im thinking you don't but im not sure.

Edit: i mean 24/7 (typo) to run all the time. sorry lol.

I have been upping the "CPU Frequency." That ok? That's in the bios btw

Right now i'm at 2.565ghz.

37degrees for CPU.
41degrees for system.

1.3200v for the CPU.

What you guys thinkin so far about this?

I don't know what the hell is going on now...

OCing was going fine but now it just resets(Completely turns off) when I boot windows from the BIOS and it doesn't show the clock speed. Just the stock 2.40ghz! I even tried putting it back to the number it started at... still did it. It's pissing me off!

I tried raising the CPU Vcore to 1.500 and CPU Frequency to 300. Then tried 290, 280... ugh I hate Computers!

So you got it back like it was? probably the memory, did you lower the memory to either a 1:1 ratio or if you can in bios set it to 533 or 667. Because when you overclock it also OC's your ram, if you set it to 667 and overclock it might even back up to its stock ~800mhz.

Hi guys, can i interupt a moment, its a bit out of this topic though.
Im using e6320 and oc it to 2.33 ghz fsb 333 (1333 qdr) without rising the cpu voltage and ram frequency (still @ 667 mhz)
Any further i rise the cpu frequency the ram will rise so i think this is the best score.
Now the fsb:ram ratio still 1:1
Is this setting good & safe for my pc?
