What type of laptop is it? You may not have a CMOS battery some do and some don't.

Did you get a recovery cd when you bought the laptop? If so then try to use it to pit the laptop back to its original state and we can start over.

hey man! wondered when you would be back online

yeah i have the recovry disk but i still cant access bios as it freezes and im a little scaed of breaking it. so does the bios have to be reset?

Try to use the rcovery disk to restore pc first.

see the thing is i cant actually boot from any disk i cant get anywhere! its really weird

I would go to the support website that I sent you , they are the makers of your laptop and will be more familiar with it . There is a support forum there for you to talk to the ASUS reps.
