You can upgrade a video card in a laptop, but the other members that commented on this as well are right- it is cheaper to just get a new laptop with a better video card. Video cards in laptops are built right onto the motherboard of your machine, so it's not just something that you can pop right out and change. You could potentially get a new motherboard, but that would cost you half again as much as a new laptop, so it might not be worth it. Best guess is to just look for a laptop that has a good video card in it. Most of the new hp's are coming with nVidia cards, so that might be a way to go when it is time to upgrade.
