Overclock mod

I saw a topic on Xtreme Systems that had the pin mod for 1333Mhz FSB... I want to do this to an E21xx series. I am pretty sure it will work on the E21xx series, it works for the E4xxx series. Question is though, where do I find a conductive ink pen to do this with?

And yes, the CPU is going to be on custom water cooling.. Some of you may ask why.. Well, Intel has 'walled' these lower end series from going over 395-400Mhz FSB, this helps to break this wall when overclocking..

Thanks

You could always use a pencil for a temporary connection, which is what people use when volt modding video cards. I would imagine you could use some kind of conductive solder as well.

Nice, id be afraid to do it.
I remember you could do that with the original mac mini's

It's only like an $80 chip...

I am going to try to hit 3.2Ghz with it... I gotta lap it, too.. Swiftech and Danger Den water cooling system. I can't wait!! If this works, I might get a Q6600 for this rig and see how far I can get my E6850 on liquid..

Nice, Tell us how it goes onceyou do it.

I figure an E4500 from Fry's for $100 is a good deal as well :). You shouldn't have that much of a problem. I could lap my processor, etc, but even at [email protected] (1.48 idle, 1.44 load), I'm still only getting 54C load temps with F@H (more around 60 with OCCT)

how do I get gold wire to stay on there? I want to know what they used and meant by "conductive ink pen".

Thanks

EDIT: Is this it?

That will work, we used to do that with the older XP Athlons, they had a mod on top, and there were pins you could ground together too for X unlock. For the top we used a pencil but on the pins we used very small copper wire, we made a loop and put it around the pins and pull it tight and snip off the ends, either way you do it just make sure its not touching any other pins.

That's all you have to do for this mod... Just connect those two pins...

On that one I have no idea, havent done it since the old Athlons. I,ll check it out and see what it looks like. Well going by the photo in your link it looks like you have to bypass the pin in the middle. You will have to use the pencil or ink mod instead of the wire.
