GPU- EVGA 8800GTS 640MB
Hard Drive- Seagate Barracuda 500GB
RAM- CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 of these. making 4 gigs total)

Case- Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower

I couldn't let you buy a computer without exposure to AMD

Ignore this computer...its AMD. You want an Intel Core 2 Duo or Quad. He's also suggesting you buy an 8800GTS 640mb..which is outdated compared to the similarly priced 8800GTS 512Mb(its better, search it up) or the 8800GT which isn't far off of it for alot cheaper.
Currently, Intel processors are better than AMD's offerings.

Unless you enjoy a few hours of frustration, do NOT get the antec 900.
Yes it does a great job of cooling a system, and it looks nice. But it is one of the worst designed cases currently being sold for anyone that has little to no knowledge of putting together a computer, or has limited skills.
Trust me, and do some searches on this forum on the Antec 900. Stay away from the Antec 900!

If you're referring to the latencies, those can be manually set to 4-4-4-12 in the BIOS. On some boards, you have to do that anyway.
What would you recommend as an alternative?
BTW, the MIR on the PSU I recommended is good if you buy by Dec. 31. In other words, you have two days to buy it if you want that deal. If you don't plan on buying by then, get this PSU: OCZ 700W

Currently, the only advantage I see with the 8800 is the ability to run SLi and the free Crysis game. I'll look up some benchmarks between the two cards.
EDIT: According to the benchmarks I've read, both the 8800 GTS and GT perform better than the 3870. Looks something like this: 8800 GTS > 8800 GT > 3870
They're all good cards; it's really dependent on your budget.

I wouldn't say either is better than the other. My reason of going for the 3870 are its 55nm, GDDR4 (i think its samsung) and currently the GT/GTS are using some ram i havn't heard of before and are having alot of problems (not all cards have the problems, obviously more faulty ram than there should be). The 3870 overclocks better and is shipped with a better cooler. From what i have seen in reviews, the 3870 seems to give a better picture and wants to render more things off into a distance with more detail than the 8800 would. But that could be due to drivers, im no expert.
