any program on vista that checks pc to make sure it's working properly?

Here's the problem with doing the restore. You just keep setting it back up for failure. Your restoring it back to facotory settings and doing all the same things you have done before and it always has the same outcome. You very likely have a bad piece of hardware! I can't stress that...

any program on vista that checks pc to make sure it's working properly?

Vista does have the Reliability Monitor and System log files can be of great help tracking down random BSODs for an experienced tech. If you've had to recover the system that many times you likely have a hardware (or driver) issue. A virus can also cause a BSOD but I doubt you have gotten...

    Takes long time to erase?

I'd try cleaning the drive with a cleaning disc. If that doesn't work replace the drive. Before you repalce the drive try the discs in another burner just to be sure though.

External Hard Drive trouble transferring really large files

If your using the drive in a strickly Windows enviroment there isn't any downside. If your using it with an Apple or Linux system you may have some systems that can't read the drive. At this point I pretty sure all major Linux distros can read and write NTFS (Ubuntu can) and I'm not entirely...

HELP plz will my pc run this?????

You would have to run it in 640x480 with all the graphics options set at the lowest settings (or off) to even have a chance at playing the game at anything close to an acceptable. Also if your running an AV or your system isn't in top performing order your going to have a slow jerky playing game.

    IS this a good deal?

You can get a PNY 9600gt with 1Gig of RAM of Tigerdirect for about $55 plus shipping. That would be a good low cost gaming card capable of playing almost all current games very well. I wouldn't get the 8600 GT that PohTayToez gave a link for since it only has 256MB of memory which is going to...

Can you use a cricket modem with PS3 and this?

The PS3 connects either wirelessly or with a standard eithernet jack. The PS3 will work just fine with any high speed ISP modem that has a standard ethernet jack or wireless connectivity. I've set up several for people without PCs. Note: You may need to connect the modem to a PC first for set...

    Telstra is a horrible ISP

If have 6MBs down and 768kbs up with my ISP. This means in the real world I can only expect on actual threw put of 600kbs down and 120kbs up. The bits to byte conversion accounts for some of it but also network congestion, quaility of the lines, speed of the servers your connecting too etc.

    Internet Explorer 8 Issues

Typically what happens is when the system has issues big upgrades like IE don't install properly. IE8 is perfectly fine and works great for 99% of people. I advise you to fix the issues with the PC and then do the IE8 isntall again. It will likely work fine after fixing the issues with your...

    Registery problem, access denied

You can use Dial-A-Fix to check and reset the policies on the PC. While you should also scan the system with some good antimalware (NOD32, MSE, Malwarebytes) but this will let you know right away how much of an issue you have. I don't recommend running most of the other fixes in Dial-A-Fix...

any program on vista that checks pc to make sure it's working properly?

Yes there are programs like System Mechanic and such that may work but most aren't any good. The better what is to post your blue screen error code and someone (myself or others) will be happy to help you here. Your absolutly right not doing a factory restore, there is only a 50/50 chance it...

Installed vista AND xp. Something went wrong!

MrFish I highly recommend that you take the system to a trusted local non big box computer store. You should have returned the system the moment you had a problem with it, it's probley too late now. I can only start to guess at what was done wrong or what the issue is bad componets...

The disc likley have an issue CD/DVD-RWs are easily damaged. If your drive will erase other RWs then the disc is damaged. Clean the disc and if that doesn't work throw it away. Your only out .20 cents or so anyway.
