you know if you're really gonna spend say £40 on a router you may as well get boadband as lots of the isp's now provide you with a router at startup, and as said before broadband is easier, faster, doesnt cost much more than dial up and it doesnt block your phone line ;)

... I'm pretty sure formatting your hard drive would get rid of the virus, but that is a bit of a drastic action to take (unless you dont have many files that you want?)

firstly what currency are you talking about? secondly how good is the computer? because if it is not that great there is probably no point taking an extra warranty as it wouldnt cost much more to get a new one.

try login - admin password - admin thats what the default is on my router

im afraid not as my laptop didnt freeze like yours does :S. if i was you i would do a backup of everything you want on your laptop then do the system restore as you may have a problem with the registry files or something so it is probably best to do that. or you could ring up acer and ask...

i used to have rc1 a couple years a go :) but when i upgraded my computer it didnt run on the newer machine - weird lol, well... it was a copy i should really buy it sometime i suppose as it was really good

o yeh i just thought of that but it doesnt let u change it when in ac mode which is quite annoying. so you say it freezes as soon as the computer is on? or when you try to connect to the network? hope you fix it :)

i think what koff2000 is trying to say is, did you try using the FN function button with the key that turns on/off the touch pad? e.g. with my laptop i press fn and f7 to turn the touchpad on/off hope this helps

yeh if u resetted it it should sort it out, it would reset all the adsl settings tho so u would need to re enter these, which isnt much of a problem. i know with my router a bt voyager that the default password and user id is 'Admin' it could be the same with yours... anyway i would reset...

hi when im on limewire i get very slow download speeds e.g. 5kb/s now if i download from the net normally i get around 240kb/s. why am i getting so slow speeds (p.s. im downloading completely legal items, freeware etc) help will be appricieted
