    PCLOS Bookmark Question

Well, I'll be. Looks like there's an app in the works now to do just that, called WebRunner. I'll wait for the good-to-go version. Maybe down the road it can be installed via Synaptic. Hope so. Bronson7

    PCLOS Bookmark Question

Linux noob here with PCLinuxOS installed on slaved drive. Is there a way to put my bookmarks on my desktop? For example: I'd like to put the Computer Forum on the desktop, just click on it, and I'm there. That would be great if it's possible. Thanks. Bronson7

Biostar Tforce 550 SE Is giving me problems, Please Help!

You're running a pretty healthy vid card. If you can get your hands on a more powerful PSU, I'd try that. You may be running out of juice depending on what's running at the time. All PSUs are not created equal. Another option is to try and borrow a less powerful vid card and see what happens...

this 5 star case driving me CRAZY!! - Coolermaster Centurion 5

While we're on this case (I've built 3 with it) don't trust the cheezy no tools pci clips. Follow it up with a screw. They ( the plastic clips) don't hold very well and you can push your pci card in when hooking up your peripherals. Bronson7

    Noob MoBo Install

You may have a problem validating Windows. I'm not sure if MS will give you a go-ahead on the board/cpu or not. Bronson7

    Problems with mobo (i think)

This along the same lines as what meanman is saying. If you pulled everything out, what about the cpu/hs&f. Thermal paste? Proper HSF attachment? Sounds like an overheat problem. Bronson7

    Screen Savers

I avoid "free screensaver" sites like the plague. If you're running an LCD, there's no need for one. If you don't want your monitor on, just set it to go to stby in settings, under power options. You can set the time for monitor shut down there. It will come back on when you move the mouse. This...

    Restoration Problem in WinXP

Yeah, that'd be my guess as it does it on two different platforms. Look over the disk closely. I had mobo drivr disc that wouldn't load and discovered they had gotten a small bit of the jacket sealant on it. Bronson7

    SlipStreaming XP Updates

Sure CodeMan, but wouldn't it be easier and definitely faster during a reformat/install,to have them available already on a separate CD or slipstreamed into the OS? Bronson7

    SlipStreaming XP Updates

Is it possible to download the Updates, burn them to a CD, and slip stream them into the OS? Or would it be better to download updates onto a CD and install them after the OS? Thanks everyone. Bronson7

    Motherboard Problem?

You may want to try another PSU. If that doesn't fix it, I'd be willing to bet it's a bad mobo. Bronson7

    Problem with Internet Connection

Also, check device managr to see if the LAN has been disabled or if there are any marks next to it, ie exclamation point, question mark, etc. If for some reason it's disabled, right click on it and slect "enable". Bronson7

    Slideshow -> DVD

If you have XP, use Windows Movie Maker. It works great and will do what you want. That program is already on your pc. I used it to do the same thing. Bronson7

    Wireless Confusion

Thanks Trizoy, that cleared it up for me. She has an older laptop so I'll have to get a card for it. Should be OK as long as I follow what you suggested and make sure it's compatible with the router. Thanks again! Bronson7

    Wireless Confusion

Well, I'd like to build a wireless network system for my wife's birthday so she can remotely use her laptop. I don't want to go the ad-hoc method as our desk top pc would have to be powered up and I understand the internet access speed would be cut in half, so I think a wireless router is in...
