Just a heads up, you cannot use over 3gb with a 32bit operating system. If you want to put in 4gb then use a 64bit operating system. As of now the performance gap between a $1,500 computer and a $3,000 computer is small. Also, are you going to be doing a lot of rendering? Rendering and gaming...

For one there is no adobe flash for any 64bit OS.

Bump. A few suggestions i have gotten are to remove open-office and use abiword instead, codecs installed by defaul, flash installed by default and a new standard theme. Keep suggestions comming.

It's true actually. I had a beta service pack and it actually improved the apparent desktop speed. As for games, it doesnt effect it at all (as far as i could tell). I am guessing the "increased gaming speed" is pure propaganda.

I have it, it is very nice. It's not something you play to get your adrenaline going but is fun in it's own way. It takes somewhat of a high-end computer to play though. I could play it on my x800 on low @ 1024x768 and it was bogging down here and there. It's a definitly a must have in your game...

Why not get a quad socket motherboard and put in some quad-core opterons :)

Depends if you are running aero in vista. If not then no. People dont realise that all current day gpus have more then one processors on them. They have one for 2d and one for 3d. So running a game would utilize the processor for 3d and the 2d on for your other monitor.

It's with that 19" monitor. O well, ill see how much ill get from it.
