How much ping is too much?

So basically, I'm moving out and won't have internet where I'm going for a while, but I can tether my phone and use that. However, when playing TF2, my ping hovers between 100 and 200, usually towards 200, occasionally a bit more. Is that enough to make me lag and jump around the map, or is it...

Perhaps it's the lack of ACC that's the problem here?

Building a Low-Budget Rig, Need Suggestions!

^ much better...the WD green drives are as slow as Christmas when you use them for an OS. Unlocking cores is not a definite thing...they can certainly be defective, and if they don't, there's a good chance they'll either need more voltage, have to be underclocked, or both. The majority can...

    Nzxt Phantom?

Just to note, thw Phantom doesn't exactly have bad cooling stock...four 120mm and one 200mm moves a LOT of air. More than most other cases. It will be perfectly fine cooling that rig with no fans added.

how much power supply would i need.

Ah, I didn't see that the board only had one x16 slot. The useful part of crossfire/sli is that you can buy a card, then when it starts to get outdated (read: cheap), you can buy a second one and run them together. Newer designs can add upwards of 90% in graphics performance over a single card...

    PSU Good/Bad List

AFAIK The Turbo Cool line is built by Wintact, and is high quality. I you're cool with having a used one, that's a pretty good deal. Those were really expensive when new.

    First time build.. Right Parts?

The problem with that is that different sites have different prices on various parts, so while on one site you may be better off getting one part, another site may have a good deal on something similar but not the same. With some exceptions, you can do better by looking at entire inventories...

Get LGA 1155 or 1366 or LGA 2011?

LGA 2011 will be to 1366 as 1156 is to 1155. So if you want a super-user/power gamer type of rig with the most power currently available to you, then you may want to wait on it. Otherwise, the 1155 Sandy Bridge chips are pretty damned powerful...nearly as strong as the $1000 i7 980X when...

    Poor Gaming Performance?

Doesn't sound like a ram issue, but ram is among the most unpredictable of the possible hardware failure in the system. It sounds like a driver issue. Maybe windows has updated the driver recently? Try going into the device manager and rolling it back.

The non gamer build - last check before I order tonight

You have two sets of SATA 6GB/s ports on that board. The white ones are part of the P67 board, and the dark blue ones are controlled by that Marvell chip. You probably don't have anything plugged into them, so when it looks for a drive, it doesn't find anything. The other ones do this as well...

The non gamer build - last check before I order tonight

Ah, that makes sense. Windows 7 makes it really easy too, once you learn to use libraries. If all goes well, you'll have it up an running within an hour or two :)

If you're just overclocking the CPU, then you're good to go even with two cards.

Good gaming computer for under or around $550.

The Blackstorm doesn't have a whole lot in the way of features, besides the tool-less bays. Not sure it's worth $80... Same story with the Armor, though it's a little better. Neither of them has any cable management.

    First time build.. Right Parts?

No sense in going for a socket 1156 build anymore...it's been replaced. Any particular reason you're buying everything from that one store? Scan, Overclockers, Ebuyer, and Amazon all have very competitive prices as well...you could probably chop a bit off of the price by comparing them.

There's no reason not to use a flash drive IMO... Just scan it with Malwarebytes if it seems like something could be wrong.

New here and have my build specs.

Heavy overclocks on everything with two 570's could stress an 850W quite a bit, though I think that PSU might handle it. With a single 570, you're perfectly fine.

    building a computer soon.

There's just a lot of them right now, haha. Just eyeballing it, an i7 2600K, decent quality P67 board, 2GB Gt 430, and 8GB of decent RAM should have about everything covered for this. You could fit in a more powerful GPU if you wanted, but that one should have everything covered. Maybe up it to...
