    Enough protection?

Thats good, you could always add a firewall program, hardware firewall, or just stick with the default one. Another extra would be using google chrome or firefox as your web browser and for 32 bit systems you could use sandboxie.

    Parental control for Google chrome

K9 web protection is another one, you could also use opendns to block certain sites without the use of software. Both should work on googles chrome. http://www1.k9webprotection.com/ http://www.opendns.com/

    Windows Vista Fierwall Secure?

If you want a firewall some good free ones are online armor, comodo, pctools, and outpost. Instead of buying AVG and picking up a firewall you could go with comodo, it offers full internet security for free.

    AVG free and firewall

Yes he's saying to use the windows firewall. A better option than widows firewall would be using Online armor, Comodo firewall with Defence+, pc tools firewall, or outpost. A good free setup would be avast with pc tools firewall. Alongside your AV and firewall run malwarebytes and/or Super...

    antivirus/ anti-malware program

Avira - has been known to have lots of false positives. Avast - i've only heard good things. Avg - low detection rate although it has been improving. I like to reccomend CIS because its a free full suite but you can compile programs to be just as good. Disable windows defender and use the two...

Norton Antivirus (and yes, I read the stickey about antivirus on this site)

Take Norton 360 over KIS, Nortons really improved over the years. A good free set up would be CIS or MSE with Threatfire, either one combined with malwarebytes or Super anti spyware as your on-demand scanners.
