I can't find much information about your motherboard but if its a VIA chipset then you will NOT be able to use any PCI-E 2.0 cards. They just wont work. I have had this happen personally with 4 VIA based AMD and Intel Boards.

1KW PSU's are not a waste. I needed that much on the 12V for my 2 8800GTX's, Pump, Hard drives, CPU, etc. My 700Watt OCZ shut off with all that. Also you forgot to mention that if you run a 1KW with a 700 watt load you will have higher efficiency. ~Tim

Have you tried running your memory and CPU unlinked? I don't know if I told you to try that or not. I know that my E8400 does 4.4GHZ @ 1.385V. You are probably giving it too much voltage. Also update to the latest BIOS and set all the voltages except for CPU to 'Auto'. BIOS Update: SZ1I...
