    Can't use Windows 7 & 8.1 on new PC's - This isn't a joke?

Couldn't swallow this one. Especially since I bought a version of 7 in 2014 knowing full well that I would be putting together a new box within a year or two. At the time, I double-checked that I would be able to transfer from the older pc on to a newer system (by calling them)...

    Powerline Adapter for Netflix

Am considering a TP link 500 Mbps (model TL-PA4010KIT) that will feed from the wired modem, into a movie room. Running a cable to this room is out of the question. Wondering what the quality of the signal is, if it can be used with a Dish Network receiver. If there is any, or much of a...

    Asus USB3's going out?

Received the new unifying receiver - calling Logitech they now say that it is not really usb 3.0 compatible. The receiver is intended fro 2.0 and they make a 2.0 converter for 3.0 connectors At the same time, the tech said it might work in the 3.0 but there could be interference. Will...

    Asus USB3's going out?

The rear usb3's appear to be getting buggy. Don't know if they are starting to fail or not. The board is a Sabertooth, only about a year old. This happens when I plug in a mouse receiver. But the receiver does work in the rear usb 2's without fail. Little concerned the front 3's might...

I have a couple free options with software I bought. One of them is with Cyberscrub privacy suite. But Acronis True Image will also backup to cloud. Great for something catastrophic even though I'll backup to a second physical location. I think my Sandisk thumbdrive also came with some...

    Cloud Paranoia

While I would like to make use of the cloud for data backup, my instincts tell me not to do it, that it is not worth the risk. Due to the possibility of data loss from hacking, etc. There is some sensitive data. Is the paranoia well-founded?

Self Driving Cars - Who Wants One?

Me too. So if everyone stops driving, eliminating this sense of interaction, won't this further seal us off from the "passing outside environment"? Creating more separateness? Or will the new breed of privileged passengers be interacting among themselves more?
