Hi there!

I've got a problem since a few days.
I'm using a normal monitor. (No TFT / LSD).
I also use an Geforce FX 5200 -,-

Now my questions are:
-Why is my FPS getting lower? (Usually 60 - 61) - (Now it's 20 - 55)
-Where to find ''vsync'', because of what i've readed, i need to put it ''Off''.
-I'm using 60Hz, is this ok?

Thanks in advange.

PS: I don't know if this is the right forum to post, since im new.

Heya,

well 60Hz is a bit low, try increasing that. However, the monitor should not have an impact on the FPS. It is more likely a software problem. Does it happen in all games? What apps do you have running?

Well, i mean, i'm using 60Hertz. - Max is 85Hertz.
-Yes, is does happen in all games.

Do you mean Apps, what computer i'm using?
-2,66 GHZ
-1024 RAM
-Geforce FX5200
-Windows XP Home Edition.

^^

PS: Yes, FPS stand for ''Frames Per Second''

Heya

What I meant were applications (apps). In other words did you install a new program that runs while you game? It could be causing problems.

Hmm, didn't really help, still same FPS, abit higher i think.

Now it ranges: 22 - 70.

And i don't think it would help turning it on.

even if vsync was on it wouldnt make your fps lower, it would just limit it to under your monitor's refresh rate (i think). so on yours, with it on, you'd reach a max fps of around 59 or 60 fps. it shouldnt matter if it's on or not.

This is correct. V-Sync will not hurt your FPS, only limit it to your refresh rate which in this case is 60 hz.

I have a feeling this is the problem hit ctrl + alt + del and then go to the processes tab and post back with how many processes you have running.

Hey!

I got 42 processings.
But i don't know which to quit, should i end them all or? t.t

Dear God no, the most important once are explorer.exe and your firewall and anti-virus programs. There are some more that I can't remember though. But don't shut any off until somebody else posts or you get the info from another source. I usually shut iTuneshelper and some other "useless" stuff I might have running.

Godlike,

If you post a screen print of your open processes, we may be able to help a little more... In the meantime, have a look at this little linky as it will tell you if your processes are needed or if they are 'cosmetic' like the iTuneshelper that MrJack mentioned...

Until next time comrade!:D

I would say its the bototm one, the Niet-actieve syste... because its using 97% of the cpu and only 16kB ram, which to me is very suspicious. However, i cannot find a single pice of information on this that is in english, only in what i think is german or dutch. Wait til someone else can verify it
