It may not be Gigabyte since only one model at newegg was seen with nForce not Intel northbridge and southbridge chipsets. You can look that over at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128044

You will note that this one runs DDR2 667 which won't leave room for upgrade later there. For Asus 8 models with two different nForce chipsets are seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...25638+107171927&name=nVidia+nForce+600+series

All of the models seen at the link above will support DDR2 800 which is in your favor there. Besides a look at MSI the price and features are the next things to consider. Hopefully one of these or an MSI model works there. For MSI, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...25638+107171927&name=nVidia+nForce+600+series OEM or retail on the model seen there.

I will go with this board. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131142

How is this video card. I looked it over and i think it is compatible with the mobo that i chosed above.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125028
I have no idea which video to chose so i just went with the one that has the most and best rating. And it is above the 7300 NVidia right?

I think all my other hardwares are fine. Can you please confirm them for me please?

Thanks

SLI support, memory supported, supply good, Seagate or WD over Maxtor preferred here, and the last item video card not seleected. For Kingston as an alternative the HyperX 2gb kit is seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134012 for a few dollars more there.

For a little less Mushkin was a good one for ocing on the older Asus boards. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146599 That's a good old name in memory as well as Corsair xms DDR2 memory seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145034

You are getting into a more flexible board with the Asus since they always seem to support a larger variety of brands. The CAS Latencies seen on the memory whether Patriot, Corsair, Kingston, or even the OCZ memory seen is either 4 or 5. The links here are for the performance series memory.

The width there would prevent the usual 3 1/2" adapter for use in a 5 1/4" drive bay. The dimensions seen in the specifications for the Rosewill point at a width of 3.99" ruling tat out fast. Plus most of this type are for external use. You would have to customize a 3.99" space to the actual width on a typical $2- 5 1/4" drive bay adapter by cutting the 3 1/2" mounts out and performing some metal working to see that happen. Plus the usb ports are external not internal for this. Rosewill as a brand? "CHEAPEEEEE'! is the commonly used and heard term for that.

As far as the video card apparently the link wasn't seen earlier when the page didn't fully load. Of course Vista is the OS loaded at the moment probably explaining why the link for the Gigabyte model wasn't seen. For the basic build you ahve planned the 7600GS shouldn't be any problem. But that won't be heard from others probably when you mention it sometime. "Why didn't you get the... blah! blah! model for blah! blah! blah! ". :p

I was thinking about the internal usb, since my pc has a internal usb from the add on 2.0 usb card.

I don't think i can do any of the metal work. so, i guess i will just have to go with one of the external card reader.

For the most part part those are simply intended as quick plug and remove type items there. Once you scan a credit card you simply unplug it and store it away unless you were to find a way to mount it with abstract bracket it would simply lay around or stored away. I haven't used one here quite yet to make any recommendations for something other then Rosewill however.

There are several internal models seen to look over however. These would be the usb 2.0 models seen at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...10069+1319721986+4093+1179712244&name=USB+2.0

The only PCMCIA model seen was "out of stock".

Look into an 8500 instead of the 7600 i think. You don't plan on upgrading for like a decade.... so shouldn't you get something dx10? You'll almost def have vista within the decade i think, esp if your somone who posts on this forum.

Gee? If you wait for a couple of years you could be running Vienna? instead of Vista? or some other version that eventually comes out. Some are still running older versions like 98 and 2000. For hardwares you first look at the fast changes seen in technologies for cpus, boards, memory types, video and sound alike in some ways. Plan on a new build being outdated in 3yrs. tops! The then latest "bells and whistles" will be staring at you by that time.

The stock cooling for the Core 2 Duo's isn't loud but it doesn't perform as well as a Thermalrght 120 Ultra Extreme (Something like that) with a 120mm fan.:)

i just bought the Thermalright 120 Ultra eXtreme with a Sycthe 120mm S-Flex Fan, it should be here on monday so ill post up some temperature difference from the stock cooler on the E6600 @ 3Ghz.

Its true, I will admit, COOLMAX makes some crappy PSUs. However, I myself have that particular PSU that I noted, and it works fine. My system is similar to that setup. Note that this is for a NON-SLI rig...If you want to go SLI some day, dont get that PSU and just ignore this post. If you dont trust THIS particular COOLMAX (not coolmax in general - An analogy would be saying ASUS mobos are great, but then this one type of ASUS mobo really sucks...except its the other way around: COOLMAX is not so great, but that doesnt mean this one particular one is bad), then go with something else then. There are many other PSUs that will run that rig that wont cost $100($99.99).

The lists seen there have been compiled based on both complaints and favorable results seen on the various makes and model types to make this a little easier to understand there. (Gee? I got that out in one sentence. :p ) Here Antec has done the job on a number of builds here while someone else may see CoolMax or some "generic" brand work well.

For building a demanding system you have to look at better rated and "stable" supplies made by a shorter list there. Good regulation when a good load is placed on the system shows you have a good one to start with. Years back Enermax was about the top name used by gamers. But some of their stuff went down hill. :( You can see where some of the better makes have stuff in the "bad" as well as the "cheapies" too.
