My A.T.I. ccc claims that my pci-x slot is only operating at 4x I would like to know how to fix this anyone with an idea, it would be greatly apreciated

Specs:
-Gigabyte 945GZM-S2
-Intel pentium D
-Saphire hd 2900gt
-2 gb A-data 667 ram

Thanks

This is an older motherboard, saying this from the DDR2 553 memory, the unheard of north bridge, no quad core CPU compatibility, and the following..

if you read in the link, your PCIe x16 slot runs at x4 lanes so unfortunely I think you're going to have to live with that or upgrade motherboards :( .

Your Motherboard on a gigabyte website

all you have to do is google your product infor and you can usually answer questions like this for yourself. Though, people on this site are always willing to help :) . good luck

no problem.

x16 means the size and capacity. For whatever reason(i am assuming when this was released x16 was uneeded or your mobo could not handle all 16 lanes) your mb only has the 4 lanes.

was wondering if this might be a decent mobo to replace with or if anyone had ideas for around the $75-100 range

You can make a link so viewers dont have to hunt down what you are looking at. Use the insert link function button.

Spend a little bit more and get a P35 chipset. Here is a nice MSI

One thing to say, it says the board is compatible with Pentium CPUs. I am not sure if this is ALL pentiums or not, I am away that you have a Pentium D. This is a good question to ask someone else because I am not sure.

Good board brands are intel, evga, msi, and gigabyte. Asus is good, (asus can be picky about memory type though) as well as abit but the first four mentioned are best.

thanks for the link i think that i will go with that board i like msi products i have always had good luck with them
