buy a 64 bit operating system, with 32 bit you could get up to 3.5 GB recognized and it would be well worth the upgrade, with 64 bit you could upgrade to as much as 8 GB of memory.
hey guys i currently have 2gb of ram on my computer i want to add more ram but i was told that i can't add more unless i have a 64 bit... so how do i change from 32 bit to 64 bit....
plzz help me out
AMD released their first 64-bit CPUs in 2003, and all Athlon 64 & Athlon X2 & Phenom CPUs are 64-bit.(don't know about AMDs)
With 64 bit it's up to 128GB of memory
In theory it can be a lot more, but Vista currently limits it to 128GB (or less, depending on which version you happen to pick). With 64 bit it's up to 128GB of memory
