$3500 Budget

Okay people, heres the deal. I can get an intrest free loan for max $3500. I want to get a computer that I can use for Gaming, Entertainment, Work. I will be making 3D graphics and Animation, films, etc, and need something that can multitask well. I love playing games, like COD4, Crysis, Quake Wars, etc- I hate lag, I want no lag, and I want to set the games on a better quality. I want to be able to watch movies in good quality as well, not blu-ray, thats overboard. So... Something FAST, RELIABLE, with QUALITY. I do not need a monitor. Please help me find a computer like this, it can be custom built in a factory, idc. I also need it to be Canadian- I really liked using www.ibuypower.com, but I just don't know enough to make a good build. Anything cheaper that can save me money and is still good for the above is fine

Where in Canada are you.

With a budget like that---the sky is the limit for you...

You don't need too spend all that, by any means but....

Do you need
Keyboard?
Speakers?

$3500 is overkill :). Im sure someone with a creative imagination here will find/make you a monster computer :).

dsella, This forum is not a place for making private business, it's a place to let people get help for free and let people learn from other people's experiences. You shouldn't do that.

Saskatchewan, Canada
I need keyboard, cheap speakers, no mouse.
I can't find anything good in stores, I like the websites that you can make custom builds. $3500 is the max, id love to save money if 3500 is overkill

HP Blackbird's can be easily constructed for cheaper money. EASILY.

With a $3500, we're probably going to get you a 4870x2 Graphics Card, and if you are not gaming on a 30 inch + screen it's going to be a waste.

Wow, woa, woah. The blackbird is ~$5,500 and is not worth more than $900 IMO I mean, 2GB of RAM? HD2900XT? Cm' on ;)

ok well here is a build i made on ibuypower, idk how well it will work

first of all, I suggest going with www.NCIX.com, you can choose all the parts u want and if u want them to build it for you, you add 50$.

Just because you get an interest free loan(not sure what it is really for), doesn't mean you should spend it all, so here's a great build for much less than 3500$

Here's the build I'd suggest

Intel Q9550 for 354.98 or Intel E8600 for 298.98
Asus P5Q Pro 138.98
LG DVD burner 25.99
Mushin 4-5-4-11 2x2gb 79.99
Antec P182 148.72
Corsair TX750 124.99
Diamond Radeon 4870 X2 564.99
Seagate 7200.11 640gb 89.78

Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit 132.42

Total with the Q9550 1660.84

Edit: Forgot to add 50$ for assembling if you want to do it: brings it to 1710.84

There is also many things you could change. You could add more Hard drives, run them in RAID. Right now, you don't seem to be ready for it, but you could also attempt to overclock your system. Buying a Blue ray dvd player wouldn't be too costy either. You are also left with the purchase of the speakers and the keyboard u want.

Very interesting. I don't think I will lower the processor though, I want it to last me a long time. That Blu-Ray burner also plays them right? Is it possible to find more LED items? Are LED items good or bad?

LED from what I know are like your case with blue led lights. There are all the nice glowing bits in your computer that make it look cool. Blue LED lights are popular whilst red LED lights give you a warm feel.
I think plenty of LED lights are fine just as long as you can sleep with a room illuminated with blue, green and red. But this isn't a problem if you don't leave your computer on.

The Blue-ray burner will also be able to play them.

The difference between the 9650 and the 9550, aside from the 275$ difference is very small. Having a Q9650 won't make your computer last you a month more than one with a Q9550. Anyway, its your money, its just a little advice.

I would take a look at this video card and RAM instead:

EVGA 896-P3-1260-AR GeForce GTX 260 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 - $260

Patriot Extreme Performance 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit - $109

So it would be 11.32 ghz instead of 12? is that the only difference?

& where can i find 8gb quality ram if thats needed?

& idk about the graphics card, i like the one I have it seems to be really popular

No, its 3.0 Ghz instead of 2.83 Ghz, you don't multiply the Ghz by the number of cores. The difference in real life situation is quite small. We are talking about 2 high quality products, one is slightly faster. But once one is outdated, so is the other, they are so close one to the other.

8gb RAM is not NEEDED, 2gb is fine, 4gb is usually more than almost anyone needs. 8gb just fits well in a 3500$ budget, but as I said, you clearly don't NEED to spend it all to have a great system.
