OK, I figured I'd check my laptop's graphics capabilities just because everyone always seems to wonder how crappy it really is  I tried 2005, but it wouldn't work :P Sooo, I just used 2001

Just for the records, my new system got just under 24000. My old system(Radeon 8500) got about 8200. My laptop...1450 :o

Im just downloading 3dmark 2001 to test my desktop, specs in the sig.

*EDIT* I ran the tests..... Damn you with your su[per fast comp. I got 4627 on my rig in the sig.

The 01 score is very cpu bound on a system like The_Other_One's.

With such power 05 is what to use, or at least 03.. :)

Mwahaha ;) Don't be too jelous as my system still's acting up :P But it seems if 01 is more CPU bounded, it should do better than it did on my laptop, right? Well, no matter, it's not like I plan to game on here.

the family computer got a score of 565 with 3dmark03, quick specs:

Celeron D 2.4Ghz
ATI 9200SE 128MB
768MB DDR333 Memory
40GB IDE Hard Drive

Hey, this computer could probably get maybe 150 with its awesome specs of:

1.0 ghz celeron
3d agp graphics!!!!!
128mb of ram (upgrading with free ram to 512!!!!!!)
20gb hdd!!!!

Get this, my freakin Averatec ran TOCA Race Driver 2 halfway decently! Espcially when I kicked the processor into 1.6GHz(I normally just run it at 800MHz)

hey my rig was nearly $2500 when i got it. there was actually only 4 mb of ram on it. it was an extra $70 to upgrade to the 8 mb.

but do you actually use that computer?

I use my emachines T1100 everyday!!!!! but that will stop once my i9300 gets here monday.

2 laptops? whats your other one?

BTW: i wanted to get an averatec once.........i probably would have gotten one too, if i hadn't all of a sudden got some more money.........

i had 1000 to spend on a laptop, and then i'd get a decent desktop, then i got 400 more and finally dell had a 40% off deal.

If all you want to do are basic windows apps, an Averatec is fine. Mine will run photoshop and all great. And apparently, some games will run on it halfway decently... But no matter, this is my work compter, not a gamming machine
