i recently got 4 gigs of overclocking corsair ram, will my asus a8n sli handle this? will this be enuf ram?

Yes, your asus board will handle it, and it is way more than enough ram. You will never use that much on a regular machine

4 gigs is major.... You will never use all that unless you are doing video editing and stuff like that. I currently have 3 and I never use over 2!!!!

Dont mean to go off-topic here, but why did you get 3GB? If you have 2x or 4x RAM sticks, then you can have dual-channel.

enuf ram.
4gb is almost too much.
#1 a waste of money
#2 it will now run 2t instead of 1t, quite slower in some apps. (sometimes 25%)
#3 what kind of corsair? the stuff i got overclocks way too nicely... its ridiculous how nicely it overclocks, i got it to 3-3-2-5 ddr520 at 2.55 volts... default settings are 2-3-2-6 ddr433 2.75V
its nice stuff!

yea, well i just wanna be able to run some torrent downloads and at the same time play battlefield 2 online.

Torrent downloads hardly use any system memory. The most i've seen it use was around 70MB, and that was with Azureus. Most other torrents apps dont even got above 30mb.

And if your downloading files, playing online games will most likely be very laggy.

And also, 4GB is more than enough. What type of Corsair memory is it?

torrent downloads are illegal in most cases.
also, you wont be able to download and do online gaming all at once... youd need a T1 connection, or even a T3 in order to get enough bandwidth. cable internet just wont cut it.
btw you can do all of that with 1gb of memory fairly easily. even 2gb you can get top quality graphics + burn a dvd + download at the same time.

Mostly they are, but there are also some that are perfectly legal.

And i already said that, bnut i'll say it again. Downloading files and playing online games rae not a good match, you will get extreme lag (depending on the size and speed of the download).

sry, i was just agreeing... i meant to just agree lol i ended up restating what u said.
4gb is a LOT though! you don't need that much! if i were you i'd sell the extra 2gb...
btw omega what happened to your 3.4ghz o/c? oh, and does it support ht like newegg said?
they should take it back if it doesn't...

I have three becasue I had one and bought 2 didnt want to spend more for 3 all together! However I will be buying another one so i can dual channel :p
