looks at nvidia's quadro, it has come in 512MB consumer models for a while now
Both ATi and nVidia have 512MB cards however neither are productiion level.I hate to tell you this but to my knowledge all the 512mb video cards are professinal video cards. Which mean they not ment for gaming. meaning even with the 512mb it proberly wont be great for games.
Unless there is a new gaming video card I dont know of.
Uh huh except for the minor glitch that the Wildcat isnt excatly what you'd call DirectX or OpenGL "compatible". And would complelely get pwnd since its more concerned with pixel precision than fillrate or geometry processing rate....Thats what I have, and im pretty sure it will work well for gaming. My friend has the same model and it plays halflife 2 great
Note how I say "compatible" -- whilst you CAN get them to work in D3D and OGL modes (as anyone whos done animation knows), they dont push out the framerates as that is not their task. Their role is to ensure that pixels are put exactly where they should be -- not to shove the pixels out as fast they can -- this is a hardware constraint. So if you think you're gonna play HL2 in DX9 mode at a decent resolution and settings you're going to be in for a big dissapointment"Wildcat VP uses 3Dlabs’ ground-breaking Visual Processing Architecture to integrate over 200 32-bit processors into a single Visual Processing Unit (VPU) for a staggering 200 Gflops or more and over 1.2 TeraOps of programmable power. Wildcat VP and Wildcat VP Pro’s power and flexibility provide industrial-strength 2D and 3D performance, quality, and functionality for OpenGL® and Direct3D® applications."
Nobody said you didnt have to stand by your opinion. Tell me, what was the fps? And which motherboard do you intend to plug it into?Iv'e seen the same exact card play HL2 before.....I stand by my opinion.
