personly id go for a 8800 Ultra, ok the chip is out-dated like Danny said but i think its the best looking nVidia board, id do almost anything to get two of them.

just found a 9800gx2 for 185 used, box and all, should i go for that instead?

I wouldn't, the 9800GX2 was a pretty big flop, it doesn't really perform all that well in many games. I'd stick with the 9800! Keep in mind, you're only on a 17" monitor.

For 180 bucks I would get a 4850 Radeon...better then both for less.
