I was thinking of upgrading from my 7600GT which while most laugh I got medium settings on crysis which blew me away I love the card very dependable but its time to upgrade.
Card in question is
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130318
Specs
MSI K9N SLI-F nForce 570LT Socket AM2+
2x 2GB G-skill PC6400
450w VX450w Corsair (http://www.corsairmemory.com/products/vx.aspx)
X2 4400+ with Freezer Pro 64 cooling (28c idle 38c high load with fan in wrong direction
)
1x 500GB HD
Sadly my board is not PCI 2.0 ready so this is the last upgrade this rig will get. Next year I will upgrade to a pure quad system and give this to my old man since he only plays WoW which this will max settings on.
Though I might get a X2 5400+ just to keep the rig going bit longer.
My question is it doesn't have a power req on newegg for the 8800GT.
I also heard that leaving the stickers on the card would cause it to over heat with stock cooling. I don't plan to over clock and my room stays @ 80F year round.
So can I power it I also have the 6 pin connector and is there really a heat issue with the stock? Also note ppl laugh but I hang a 120mm fan on the backside of my GPUs after my 7600GT was getting so hot on the backside it semi warped the card so I will do the same with this card as well.
