but dont you agree its much more comfortable to buy a brand new laptop knowing its going to work as someone far more intelligent has created it and the warranty will keep you from spending your wives savings if anything goes wrong?

once i talked to a dell guy on the phone about getting a lappy and he told me the celeron D was dual core. that was the last time i ever trusted dell. Asus is a good brand thogh

but yeah, the rig in my sig.. i love it but.. , thats home :P

there is only one laptop to own, a Macbook Pro. also blu ray is a dead technology it will never take off. Especially since the porn industry will be using only HD-DVD meaning it will take the market share. Sony made the same freaking mistake with beta max, and I guess they didn't learn their lesson. Then again, sony makes crap these days anyways IMO.

My macbook pro is the best laptop I have ever owned, hands down. I have owned/used/supported/repaired just about every laptop manufacturer in existance. Apple still makes the best laptops in my personal and professional opinion.

Their laptops are the best IMO. The thing is, there really is no such thing as a low end mac laptop. All their notebook computers are high end, and their lower end ones, the regular mac books are mid range. So, yeah, there are not a lot of options but then again you don't need them because you are buying a good piece of equipment to begin with.

i just wished alienware had another laptop line with "desktop" processors :[

i woulda chose E6600 on a laptop
that woulda been real nice

I've heard a lot of bad stuff about Alienware... mainly if something goes bad, you're screwed. I've heard about people that have things go bad, and Alienware won't sell their parts to outside repair places, and they have refused to repair their own equipment, so your stuck with a dead machine.

What exactly do you plan on doing with this laptop that would require a desktop procesosr? Not to mention, the Core 2 Duos in laptops are almost the exact same as the desktops.

Alienware has an aura of proness attached to it, and it along with HP sell overpriced systems. But given a choice, I will go with Alienware as they make really overclockable systems or systems that come overclocked and tested so you don't have to do the leg work. Dell just sell reliable budget systems.

deffinately get a mac dude, sorry to ruin your thread by choosing none of the above but ive had several make of laptops in my time and tbh you will eventually want a mac laptop after loosing money selling on your old laptops. A macbook pro sounds like your cup of tea, the option of two operating systems and you sound real posh when u tell people u have a mac....how can you go wrong!lol

it sounds better when u say

i got a sli notebook from alienware

u willl also hate ur self everyday for paying 5 grand or w/e :D
