Hi Ive been lo0oking around at Newegg and IC that the 6000 is 3.0ghz and is only 170.00 could it be stable at gaming?
 
e6850 is alot better but if you want something good and low price, this is the way to go, you are gonna need to dcide on a whole new board
 
it will bestable if you just hop it in stock, and if you have to change the voltage which i doubt ur gonna have to, its easy, i would prob say this is a really fast processor for the price point
 
Don't be fooled by GHz

E6550 performs on par with 6000+ even though it has lower GHz

And I would get C2D E6550 over 6000+ because it run cooler, consume less power and overclocks way much better
 
All Core 2 are more powerful than the AMD, but it get more hot too i think, that's why u always need a good cooling.

not all, the x2 6000 can put itself on a par with the 6400 and in some benchmarks the 6600, so its better than a fair few of the lower end Core 2's

I expect the upcoming x2 6400 will performing more regularly near the 6600
