So i have this hp pavilion dv4165cl laptop. A couple of days ago it stopped charging. I would end up wiggling the cord to the right place, and if it moves slicghtly it will stop charging.
I noticed that the ac adapter had a rip in it. So i odered a new one and it came today. I plugged it in and the same thing
So i chatted with an hp techinician and she said (after like 1/2 and hour) that the power jack was the problem and that its connected to the motherboard and that i would haveto replace it.
So i asked how much it would cost and she said 450-500$$$
Thats almost 1/2 the cost of this damn thing. Anyway she lowered it to $260 if i send it in to them to get it fixed.
My question is is will it cost that much to replace it? and will it be cheaper to go to a local mom and pop store?
Thanks
