Are AMD processors good?

2GB - 256 MB typically. It depends on how you set it. They will adjust themselves automatically depending on how much video RAM they require.

I would not give that Asus to my most hated Aunt. Old piece of crap board. Ferrites look like they were wound by my Grandmother and the caps look like they came off a Socket 5.:D:D

lmao. Yeah.. well.. ummm.. My computer is better than your computer. And... ummm. Hmmm.

Ok. I'm going to go for AMD because it's cheaper than intel.

AMD is not cheaper than Intel

Intel have great budget processors like E1200, E1400, E2180, E2200, E2220, E4600 and E7200

Also, Q6600 is cheaper than Phenom 9850 and it performs slightly better as well

If you plan to get Intel, I recommend these parts

Motherboard with integrated graphic

And for the processor I recommend one of those

E1400

or E2180

Or she can get E1200 which is the cheapest dual core processor at newegg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116064&Tpk=E1200

E1200 will be fine for basic needs

Thanks a lot everyone who put posts on this topic! But all I need to know now is, should I go for AMD or intel?

Just say the name of the processor and if that CPU have more votes than the other one, then I will do an online customization with that CPU!
