Hi guys, i desperately need your help. I've been trying to fix this problem for a while now and none of the popular methods that i found online have fixed it. After i keep my pc off overnight lets say, i turn it on and right after i log on the display driver crashes about 8 or 9 times and then bluescreens caused by "atikmpag.sys" after that the PC will reboot and upon next startup may crash once or twice but is then absolutely fine for the rest of the time im using my pc. It never happens other than at those times upon startup and but the strange thing is that after it has crashed etc on the first 2 startups, i can reboot my pc as much as i want with no display driver crashes whatsoever. Please Help!!

I have tried:
Reinstalling the driver software several times.
Installing later drivers (14.9 i've tried)
I've tried reinstalling windows 7 and installing windows 8 instead
manual expanding the atikmpag.sys and atikmdag.sys files
adding a TdrDelay in the registry (manually and by using the hotfix)
Another thing, and im not sure it's important but on startup the windows logo staggers.

Any help is greatly appreciated, i've had this problem for months.

Specs are:

CPU - AMD FX9370
MOBO - M5a99FX Pro R 2.0
RAM - ADATA XPG V2 8GB DDR3
GPU - 2GB XFX 6870 + 1GB XFX 6870
PSU - Coolermaster GX 750w

Try using each video card separately and see if it still happens. With this happening on somewhat cold starts then its possible something could be up with the power supply. Have you tested voltages? Are there any bios updates pertaining to better Video compatibility?

Hi, yes it does occur and im sure that at least one of the cards works so. I think it could be something called a "cold boot " gpu issue as this only happens on startup after my pc has been left off for a while. I hear people talk about the problem online but never any fixes? is it a problem with the psu or gpus?

Help, please

Could be either I guess. First step would be to try a different psu and see what happens.
