I'm really wary of AMDs, and you left out graphic card I think.

You sure that PSU can keep it cool with the computer on a lot?

Porn dude, I think you have a problem. Visit SAA. -.-*

Edit: for those who hadn't already figured it out, I am a girl.

That card looks like a great deal! I got a radeon 9250 for $200 CAN 2 years ago and this 7300 would woop its butt. Mind you I also needed a PCI card too, but still.

I know my last comment was sort of random... Personally I would NOT waste money on partying it up, I would rather make a nice computer system and have the odd drink, regarding tlarkin's comment. My personal advice is to, at this time, go with intel because they are winning the processor race right now for speed and lower cost, and I would also recommend getting a good power supply if you plan to upgrade, or a lower end one if you don't plan to upgrade.

if the motherboard has onboard video, then ignore a graphics card, you wont be playing anything near graphic intensive it sounds so onboard video will do the trick. In terms of being wary of AMD,don't be,they make quality CPU's just like Intel, nothing to be wary about. And you said you dont use speakers often, you might as well ignroe the whole soundcard thing and use onboard sound.

Never said anything about porno, and being sarcastic

anyways to answer your question, intel based processors of the latest technology, core duo and core 2 duo actually out perform AMD. But I assure you I have an AMD 3400+ I have had running since it was released pretty much with zero problems, and before that I had an AMD athlon that rocked, and before that I had an AMD K62 that rocked.

Over the years I have found AMD to be reliable, and on par with intel.

Also, everyone knows you never buy your own drinks on your birthday, and if you have to your friends are bums.

It's past my b-day, by a few weeks now. question is what to change the title of this thread to.

If intels are the same as AMD but cheap why go with AMD?
Those two MoBos have onboard sound and graphics? ^^ I must have not noticed that.

exactly, go with whatever you want, but realize that AMD is not junk, its on par with intel. next generation AMDs may be better who knows? it kind of flip flops, but overall i don't think you will ever notice a difference

AMD dominated Intel until the Core 2 Duo,so it flip flopped as tlarkin said, eventually AMD will outdo intel in the future. In terms of price, amd tends to be cheaper except for recently, the C2D are definitely priced competitively.

AMD is actually winning the race in the low end processors, but they might lose it soon because of the E2160/E2140.

The mobos got an intergrated GForce 6100
